Earlier in June, while I was spending a long weekend with my dad, I saw three tiny kittens poking out of some bushes on a curb beside the parking lot of Anderson's Zaxby's. I, being the soft-hearted cat-lover I am, couldn't stand to leave the poor, obviously put out babies where they could get run over or worse, so I convinced my father to keep them in his garage until I could contact my mom and, hopefully, keep them. Thankfully, she said yes to at least bringing them home, and, after a few nights in the garage, I took my three little angels home on June 17 in a cardboard box from ALDI.
The transition was the hardest part, as it took quite a lot of time for them to get used to their new environment in our larger bathroom (as opposed to the closet-sized, smaller one), and it took us a while to properly figure out how to barricade the doors. The first trip to the vet was a breeze, and it's only now that Nicholai hisses and cowers while the other two pounce about without care.
Oreo, the big-boned and fluffy inside cat of my mother's, still isn't used to the three darlings, and Nicholai isn't too fond of him, either. Gabriel, however, has decided that he loves Oreo while Caspian remains as apathetically insane as ever.
As small as they were, at first, all three kittens have grown and are still growing at a steady pace, and I can personally say that they have quite the appetite.
Well, that's all for now, but my next few posts will be about the individual kittens, themselves, before I truly get into general tips and care.
