To start this post, I'd like to go ahead and say that, at my house, we've had the bathtub removed and the floors changed. Yay. Unfortunately, this means that the kittens had to stay in the bedroom for two nights, with one break in between.
The first night, my mother and I had already made an agreement. I would sleep in her bed with the kittens, and she would sleep in the guest bedroom since my mattress is too soft to offer much support for her back and neck. Alright, that's cool with me. Well, I went into the bedroom, laid down the ground rules (which the kittens happily ignored), did any school work I had neglected earlier that day, and prepared for bed. This was all fine and dandy, but the mattress, which my mother had already stated wasn't too her taste and would be exchanged, felt like I was sleeping on a rock. The poor kittens just wanted to snuggle with their mommy, but I couldn't sleep or keep still ALL NIGHT. To add to that, Caspian has this thing when he wants to be loved, and he rubs all over you until you pet him enough to make him happy. Oddly enough, in the morning, I wasn't too groggy. I'm weird in the fact that I am more awake when I sleep less, as long as the habit isn't maintained for more than three days.
Now, the second night, I brought in my two body pillows, one a rectangular and flat shape and the other cylindrical. Either way, I slept on the rectangular pillow and an extra comforter while using a light blanket and draping myself over my other body pillow. I would have slept rather peacefully if it weren't for the crazed behavior of my babies.
The kittens kept making noises, fighting each other in play, messing with the litter, spilling the water, and jumping on me as if to rouse me to play with them. Of course, Caspian did his forceful love thing, and I had to stroke his back until he thankfully let me be. Still, some sleep was better than none, though I woke up tired this morning. Hopefully, everything in the bathroom will be fixed soon, and the kittens will be back to containment. xP
